I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I use numerous approaches to benefit your needs. The main emphasis is the relationship we establish. Our therapy is tailored to your needs, as we collaboratively work together. I will work with you, as I believe that my clients are the experts in their own experiences. We will be working on meaning and understanding your difficulties / issues. This allows us to have a fuller picture of your life / difficulties so far, and will allow us to get you back in control of your life. My experience with such issues is listed below. These are generic terms and needn’t define the direction we take; but they may offer a good starting point. I offer a non-judgmental, authentic counselling service in a safe, nurturing environment. I have listed a few of the common issues that people come to me with. However, I appreciate the complexity of life, and you may not want to be defined by labels. I treat each client as an individual, so please don’t worry if these labels don’t feel like a good fit.
OPTIONS FOR THERAPY
Consultation session - Our initial meeting will be approximately a 15 minute phone during which we will discuss our suitability to work together. This initial chat will be free of charge, then if you choose to book an appointment with me I will book you in for a full session. Unfortunately there are some occasions where I may not be able to help due to safe-practice, ethical reasons or due to governing body regulations, if this occurs I will let you know and will do my best to offer alternative solutions.
Face to face - Our sessions together will be conducted face to face unless you specifically ask for online. Face to face counselling is the traditional path for people accessing counselling, and there are many benefits, however I do offer online sessions as an alternative. Our sessions should preferably be a fixed day and time to allow for consistency and stability.
Online sessions - Online sessions can be just as effective as face to face meetings. If you would prefer to meet / talk this way, I am more than happy to accommodate you.
Walk & Talk Therapy - If you find it beneficial communicating whilst being outdoors this approach combines the best of both worlds. The walk can be tailored to you, the pace and distance covered are completely flexible to help you feel comfortable and free. Check for availability by email or phone.
